There has been quite a few "point-and-click" game making programs made over the years, but recently a new one by The Game Creators has been brought to my attention. It's called "FPS Creater". With me being an avid gamer and professional game maker, I just had to try it so I purchased and downloaded it along with the 2 model packs that are sold seperately.

My first impressions were good. It's exprememly easy to put together your own FPS game and be playing it within minutes. However, the program seems more like a toy than a professional game making utility. Sure, I didnt REALLY think it would be a professional game development package, those usually run for thousands of dollars, but you cant help but acknowledge that this can come pretty close.

Overall, I think the program is more catered to the beginner or "wannabe" game maker as it doesnt require a whole staff of artists and programmers to make a game with it. Although with the little time I've had to play with it, I will say it is not without it's quirks and limitations. There are quite a few things you can't do with it... like top down games and 3rd person perspective like Tomb Raider. In the faq, someone asks "Can I make a 3rd person game?". The answer given by the creators is "No, afterall this is FPS Creator". So that pretty much sums it up. But for the price, it's still worth a look.
